MetoQR Privacy
This page explains what happens to information you enter while using the QR code generator and scanner.
QR codes are created in your browser
The MetoQR page creates QR codes on your device. The page’s generator and scanner code does not send the text or details you enter to a MetoQR account or server as part of creating or scanning a code.
Information inside a QR code is not private from people who can scan or receive that code. A Wi-Fi code may reveal the network name and password to someone who scans it. A contact code may reveal the contact details it contains.
Drafts and saved codes
The tool automatically saves your current draft and saved QR code library in browser storage on this device. Depending on the code type and options, this can include text, links, contact details, Wi-Fi information, selected images, and generated QR images.
This storage belongs to the browser profile on this device. It is not automatically available in another browser or on another device. Anyone who can use the same browser profile may be able to access the saved information. Clearing the browser’s site data can remove drafts and saved codes. Export a library backup if you want to keep or move your saved codes.
Camera and image scanning
Camera scanning starts only after you press the camera button and grant your browser permission. The camera is used to read QR codes in the page. You can stop the camera at any time. You can also choose an image file to scan instead.
The browser may ask for permission to use the camera. MetoQR does not need camera access to create QR codes or scan an image file.
Third-party code libraries
MetoQR loads the QR code generator and scanner libraries from jsDelivr, a third-party content delivery network. When your browser requests those files, jsDelivr may receive standard technical request information such as your IP address and browser details. This request does not include the text or contact details you enter into the tool.
Downloads and links you open
When you download a QR image, contact file, or library backup, your browser handles the download and save location. If you open or scan a QR code that contains a website address, that website may collect information under its own privacy practices. Check the destination before opening it.
Changes and questions

Use care before putting sensitive information into a QR code. Share the finished code only with people you intend to receive its contents.
